Gezhi Racking: Warehouse Planning Prior to Storage Design

Warehouse planning refers to the overall layout and design of storage modes, storage equipment, warehouse space and information management systems before warehouse operations. Professional warehouse planning providers develop optimal layout plans based on five core factors:

All rack access operations rely on forklifts, so rack design must match handling equipment. Aisle width determines whether counterbalance forklifts or narrow-aisle stackers are used. Forklift models are selected based on lifting height, load capacity and turning radius.

5.Inbound & Outbound Volume (FIFO, Access Frequency, Throughput)
Certain rack types deliver high storage density yet low throughput, suitable for low-turnover inventory. Warehouse throughput is the core benchmark for rack selection; high-turnover warehouses prioritize racks with fast access performance.
