Pallets are now commonplace in logistics transportation and warehouse handling, and are also one of the most widely used storage accessories paired with racks. With pallets, forklifts can directly handle goods on racks, which greatly boosts work efficiency and cuts labor costs. Racks such as heavy-duty racks and shuttle racks shall be applied in line with their respective features. Select pallets of different materials according to actual storage requirements. Pallets are mainly available in three types: metal, wooden and plastic.
Metal pallets are the standard choice for heavy-duty racks. Typically, 2 to 3 metal pallets can be placed side by side on one rack unit to meet storage needs. This type of rack is also known as pallet rack.
Several key points need to be noted when using metal pallets with heavy-duty racks:
First, arrange the pallets properly and reserve sufficient space for forklift operation. Second, place pallets neatly on rack beams, and properly stack goods on pallets to prevent safety incidents. In addition, anchor fittings must be installed at the base of pallet racks to guarantee overall stability.
