What Are the Purposes of Racking Mezzanine Platforms

A racking mezzanine platform, also commonly known as a mezzanine racking system, refers to a platform structure built on top of storage racks. This multi‑level racking solution is assembled from medium‑duty or heavy‑duty rack components, and can be configured with two, three or more mezzanine floors.

Mezzanine layouts are tailored to on‑site warehouse conditions with diverse structural options. One popular design builds a mezzanine platform, onto which conventional pallet racking can be installed; this solution is widely adopted to reuse existing used racking units on the upper level. An alternative layout fits floor panels within rack aisles, dividing the racking system into multiple independent storage levels as required.

Special‑purpose steel floor panels are used for all mezzanine decks, delivering integrated, flat and stable working surfaces. Mezzanine racking systems come complete with access staircases, and loading‑unloading zones are fitted for levels above the ground floor. Goods chutes or cargo lifts can also be integrated upon customer request.
Mezzanine racking platforms are ideal for storing small‑size, high‑volume goods handled mainly by manual operations. They are widely deployed in warehouses, distribution centers and logistics facilities.
